Sustainability and circular actions of Alma Traveller – Travel Agency

Within the 17 global goals adopted by the members of the United Nations, which are part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development worldwide, several goals stand out that are of particular relevance for tourism activity and travel experiences. These goals are designed to address a wide variety of global challenges and to promote sustainable development globally. The SDGs are based on the fundamental principle that economic, social and environmental development must advance hand in hand to forge a more equitable and prosperous future for all humanity.

In this sense, it is essential to reflect on the positive changes that we are generating in our environment and how we are contributing to the achievement of these objectives through tourism activity. Below, we highlight some of the SDGs to which we contribute and how we do it at Alma Traveler- Travel Agency:

ODS 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure: Our focus at Alma Traveller- Travel Agency is on building resilient infrastructure and promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization. Through the offer of accessible tourism, we encourage local tourism providers to adapt their facilities and services to comply with the equal opportunities law. Read in Chile Law 20,422 (The objective of Law No. 20,422 is to ensure the right to equal opportunities for people with disabilities, in order to obtain their full social inclusion, ensuring the enjoyment of their rights and eliminating any form of discrimination based on disability. ). Every link in the tourism supply chain is challenged to innovate to make tourism accessible to all, from accessibility at entrances to venues and tourist sites, access to bathrooms in restaurants, to the adaptation of accommodation facilities. .

SDG 10: Reduction of inequalities: At Alma Traveller, we are committed to generating job opportunities for people with different abilities in the tourism industry. Our goal is to equitably distribute the resources generated, providing tools and training to promote their development in human capital. We actively fight discrimination and provide support to marginalized groups in the field of tourism. Furthermore, we are open to international cooperation to address inequalities both within and between countries.

SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities: Our mission is to promote local communities and create sustainable tourist destinations. It means ensuring access to adequate, affordable and safe housing, basic services and transportation, which, in turn, has a positive impact on the experience of our travelers. We seek to make cities and tourist settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

SDG 12: Responsible production and consumption: Aware of the importance of changing the current production and consumption model, Alma Traveler-Travel Agency promotes a regenerative tourism approach. We offer travelers the possibility of contributing to reducing the environmental impact of their trips, minimizing the generation of waste at destinations and reducing the consumption of natural resources and becoming aware of responsible consumption when deciding on a travel destination.

SDG 13: Climate Action: As part of our collaborative actions, we engage with relevant actors in tourist destinations to address climate change. We created an information platform on climate change, sustainability and the circular economy so that the tourism community can inform themselves and take virtuous actions in this regard.

In summary, Alma Traveller Travel Agency is committed to actively contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, recognizing that tourism activity can play a fundamental role in promoting sustainable development at a global level. We are committed to generating a positive impact on our communities, the environment and society as a whole, and we are open to international collaboration and cooperation to achieve these shared goals.
